Candle Lighting

The Lighting of the Candles is a beautiful, time-honoured ritual that visually represents the joining of two lives, two families, and two hearts. It is a moment of quiet reflection and bright hope that adds a layer of sacredness and warmth to any ceremony.

In this ceremony, two individual candles are lit to represent your separate lives, your unique personalities, and the families you come from. Together, you use those individual flames to light one central "Unity Candle." This single, brighter flame symbolises your new life together—a union where your individualities are not lost, but rather combined to create something even more radiant.

As your celebrant, I love finding ways to make this ritual truly yours. We can involve:

• Parents or Children: Having family members light the individual candles to represent the support system surrounding you.
• Memorial Tributes: Lighting a candle in quiet remembrance of loved ones who are present in spirit.
• Musical Accompaniment: Choosing a meaningful song to play during the lighting to create a truly atmospheric moment.
